Mountaineering and climbing in Pelion in excellent and fully secured routes of varying difficulty. Indicatively, we suggest the following climbing areas:

Koukourava – Sarakinos – St. Nikolakis

Climbing on limestone rocks of about 10 to 35 meters tall, starting from St. Nikolakis and going up to Koukourava. An area of varying difficulty located very close to the city of Volos.

Μilopotamos

One of the best climbing areas.

The routes are located on limestone rocks of the beaches of Milopotamos. Overall, there are about 14 routes ranging from 10-20 m, which are of high difficulty in most cases.

Agria

Twenty-five routes of all difficulty levels, on the limestone rocks of Anemoutsa, varying from 10 to 25 meters.

Nikos Maggitsis, the world-renowned climber, is active in Agria. The Outdoor Sports School, www.magitsis.gr , is a modern school specializing in open-air sports and the organization of outdoor sports events.

Paou Cave, Magnesia Region
The climbing field of Paou is located close to Argalasti in southern Pelion. Paou is a small cave and so far has just eleven routes. The area is ideal for someone following routes of 7a-7b rating. It’s a relatively new area where climbing is recommended all year round except for the periods of heavy rainfall since tufas get wet.

 

Mikro – Platanias

Mikro is the name of the very beautiful beach located close to the village of Platanias. There, you can climb all year round and especially during the summer because of the cool sea wind that makes climbing so pleasant. 

Years ago, these rocks could have been a cave since there are many stalactites and small holes. It is necessary to have with you a rope of 60 meters and certainly your swimsuit, since the beach is wonderful.
